Usain Bolt dunks at NBA celebrity match

The world's fastest man has shown that he has other sporting skills, producing a slam dunk in the NBA All-Star Celebrity game in Houston.

Olympic 100m and 200m champion Usain Bolt, who gave up early basketball ambitions to pursue a track and field career, made a fast break in the first quarter of the match before throwing down a two-handed dunk.

Bolt, who stands at 1.96m tall, may have been called for travelling in a real basketball match but the referees turned a blind eye to his extra steps before the dunk.

"It's something big and something fun for me," Bolt said before the game.

"So I'm just looking forward to going out there and having fun and try to dunk a few times.

"I can't say I'm any good right now, because I've stopped playing basketball and started playing football, so I'm really rusty, but I'm sure I can dunk."

The Jamaican sprint star lined up against other celebrities including comedian Kevin Hart, singer Ne-Yo, rapper Common, actor Nick Cannon and former NBA greats Dikembe Mutombo and Clyde Drexler. Rapper and actress Queen Latifah was an assistant coach at the match.
