It's still too cold for Polo shirts and golf carts, but once it warms up a trip to Augusta, Mo., may be in order. According to Golf Digest magazine, Boone Valley Golf Club is the best in Missouri.
Golf Digest ranked Boone Valley No. 1 in Missouri for the second time in a row for its biennial "America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses" list, which is out in the February 2013 issue.
While no golf clubs in Missouri ranked in the Top 100, Boone Valley was the best in the state according to a survey that includes rankings from more than 1,100 golfers asked to rate the difficulty, design, aesthetics and condition of each course.
"Boone Valley Golf Club continues to get very good scores from our panelists in all these categories," said Golf Digest Senior Editor Pete Finch in a statement. "It's been among Missouri's top 10 courses since 1995 and reached the No. 1 spot for the first time in 2011."
Nationally the top ranked golf course was Pine Valley Golf Club in Pine Valley, N.J., followed by Augusta National in Augusta, Ga., and Cypress Point Club at Pebble Beach.
