Lab Technician, Oil/Gas Job (Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada)

Manpower, together with our international oil and gas manufacturing client, is currently recruiting a Lab Technician in Grande Prairie, AB.

Our client is the world's leading supplier of technology, integrated project management and information solutions to customers working in the oil and gas industry.

This role performs verifiable quality assurance tests on company products, as well as prepares laboratory reports prior to service delivery on location. It also develops practical skills and understanding of laboratory operations in support of assigned sub-segments. Ideal candidates must be capable of working independently at this stage on the following:

• Performs basic fluids additive selection, documents and reports results p
• Assists the Senior Laboratory Technician and Fluid Technical Engineer in ensuring clean, orderly and safe working conditions in the laboratory, disposal of laboratory waste according to properly conducted methods and internal audits
• Participates in the District HS&E & Quality initiatives and programs (eg. SOIM's, Risk Assessments,
  Quality Improvements, Emergency Response Plan, HSE and SQ Objectives, LPT and SQC)


• Performs Risk Analysis and identifies & addresses potential safety hazards. Corrects and report hazards immediately in QUEST or to Supervisor
• Complies with all Company & Regulatory HS&E & Quality and IT standards and policies

Key Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Diploma / Degree in Chemistry

• Adaptability skills and knowledge
• Proven verbal and written communication skills
• Desire to work in team environment and show initiative
